Built for a wide range of applications, Jupiter products have been adapted for battlespace requirements on land, sea and air. To develop situational awareness, you need to be able to see everything available—video, data, images, maps, and more. That’s what Jupiter delivers.
Jupiter’s high-performance display wall processors are ruggedized, battle tested and used in military operations around the world on land, sea and in the air. In addition to the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, Pentagon and North Atlantic Treaty Organization use Jupiter systems. Applications include battlefield management, security, surveillance, operational coordination and other innovative solutions for all types of combat vehicles and operations centers.
Jupiter is the #1 worldwide supplier to the U.S military of display wall processors. For more than 20 years Jupiter has invested in mission critical products designed expressly for U.S. military applications where lives depend on situational awareness provided by the display wall controller. In developing these products, Jupiter has developed a detailed understanding of how the U.S. military operates and what it expects of suppliers.
Thousands of Jupiter products deployed by U.S. Army
Since 2007, the U.S Army has acquired and deployed thousands of Jupiter VizionPlus™ systems. The display wall processors are part of a command and control system that provides multiple command post levels with a common operating picture of of critical real-time information such as troop positions, the status of roads and bridges, and other data available from multiple combat systems.
Designed for use in mobile command posts housed in tent environments, the system delivers the same information in the same display format to commanders and staff from the company and squad level to the brigade and division level. This capability facilitates collaborative planning, raises situational awareness and is considered essential to effective battle-management decision-making.
An order for Jupiter products in late 2010 represents the single largest deployment of display wall systems in U.S. Army history.
VizionPlus II™: Extending the legacy, projecting power
VizionPlus II™ is the newest version of Jupiter’s VizionPlus family of display wall processors. Ushering in a new era of performance and flexibility for collaborative visualization applications, VizionPlus II employs cutting-edge, second-generation PCI Express technology that offers up to an astonishing 192 Gbps of bandwidth. That’s enough bandwidth to carry multiple ultra-high resolution video signals at a full 60 frames per second, drive ultra-high resolution monitors at a full 32 bits per pixel, and support virtually any configuration requirement. VizionPlus II is also a personal computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU , 4 GB of RAM, and a 320 GB hard drive. The processor can run 24/7 mission-critical applications, access network data, and process and display information on a wall-sized monitor. See the VizionPlus II datasheet.
The VizionPlus II is built specifically for the military and its unique applications and is not available to the general commercial market. For more information, please contact your local Jupiter Systems sales representative.
